Goggles

Zoggs Podium Titanium.

For me. These goggles are pretty much faultless. They retail for $29.99 at the local sports store. They are by far THE most comfortable pair of goggles I have ever worn. Even after my 5300 meter set in the pool. I had no deep rings around my eyes, they were actually still pleasant to have on. The nose bridge works well and I have zero leakage when swimming ever. For anti fog they are reasonable and the coating lasts for quite a while. My current pair are 6 months old and I can still get a 1500 meter effort in with no fogging issues during.

Wetsuit

Blue Seventy Helix Wetsuit.

This suit was a revelation. I had literally just finished Port MacQuarie 70.3 an hour before and my old wetsuit leaked like a sieve. I was in great swim form heading in to the race and ended up swimming slower with a wetsuit than I was without one, due to the water ingress around the collar and sleeve cuffs.

Roll on the Blue Seventy Helix on the other hand. This suit is just plain brilliant. Great value at just over or just under the $1k mark depending if yo can find one on special. It has all the hallmarks of the uber suits. Super flexible shoulders great buoyancy for the legs a great neck closure that makes sure you stay warm in the water.

This thing is fast as well. My very first race I PB’d the swim in a 70.3 and in my first Ironman in it came out in a strong position inside the top 10 for the first time. It is easy to get off with a great zipper set up making removing the shoulder son the fly while running to T1 a pretty easy task.

There are dearer wetsuits out there but I love my Blue Seventy and will likely get another one of these when this one finally wears out. So far I have done 2 full Ironmans and about 5 70.3’s in it. Plus during last winter I was swimming in it in the local ocean bath when the water temp dropped below 19 degrees. Last time I wore it in a local club race it still felt tight in all the right places and was leaking no water and felt as good as the day I bought it.
